Site Configuration Options

Companies and organizations come in all different sizes and can serve widely disparate customer populations, requiring correspondingly different telecommunication configurations to effectively address their voice, Internet and data needs. At one end of the spectrum we might have a single site configuration associated with a small staff operating out of a single office needing only a few phones and a couple of phone lines to permit two simultaneous phone calls, plus relatively light Internet traffic.

At the other end of the spectrum we might have a complex, multiple site configuration associated with a large staff at different physical locations, needing many phones and enough phone lines at each site capable of handling twenty or more simultaneous phone conversations, as well as high speed network connectivity to sustain heavy Internet usage from many computers.

It should also be kept in mind that if the staff at any one site engage in more than six simultaneous phone conversations, you will benefit from improved service at reduced cost by converting to one of the combined voice/data service packages offered by PINS, in which your services  are Dynamically Allocated  between voice and data as needed, in order to maximize Internet traffic handling capability without degrading phone sound quality.

The schematic below illustrates one example of such a multi-site situation. Clients can either eliminate or add additional connections to fit their particular needs.

Note: Schematic diagram illustrating typical connections between PINS, Tier 1 providers, and Clients.  Specific Tier 1 Providers, phones and computers are shown only as   examples.  Client connection to PINS may be via a DSL, T1, EoC, Internet, or fiber-optic line depending on bandwidth needs and configuration.  The term “router”   is used to identify equipment used to connect transport lines (e.g., T1) to PINS and Client sites.  Specific equipment used may vary depending upon the application.

Although these schematic configurations are useful for illustrating the range of service configurations, in practice, PINS routinely customizes the products and services it offers to meet the specific needs of its clients in the most cost-effective manner.  This also means that PINS can easily modify a particular service configuration as the needs of a company or organization change.
