Philosophy

Over the years, PINS has added many services and many new ways to deliver services in response to the needs of our clients.  The decision to add any new service at Public Interest has always been driven by three criteria:

  • Does it offer our clients a better value than they currently receive?

  • Can we deliver the service with the quality and reliability our clients need?

  • Can we provide the service at a profit?

New technologies are a constant in the telecommunications world, but before PINS makes any change in the services it makes available to its clients, PINS engineers compare the old and new technologies available for delivering services, deploying the best technology available at the time to meet the need only after a careful analysis. Using this approach, clients are spared the pain of implementing new technologies which do not provide better value, reduce cost, or meet a clear need.  This approach, practiced consistently over time, has made PINS a very stable and enduring company.  As a result, PINS has no debt and has been profitable in every year   of its 25+ years of existence, making it a rarity among privately held US telecommunications companies.
